The gamma-ray line emission of Orion

Description
Observations of gamma-ray emission lines of C and O in the Orion star forming region indicate that shock waves produced by stellar winds and exploding stars may be accelerating these nuclei. This mechanism may have a significant impact on the production of Li, Be, and B through spallation reactions. The nature of the acceleration makes strong predictions which may be tested by the upcoming INTEGRAL mission
