Evaluating the Gauss law anomaly by using the method of dimensional regularisation

Description
The method of dimensional regularisation is applied to calculate perturbatively the lowest-order contribution of the Gauss law anomaly of Abelian gauge theory with chiral interaction. It is shown that the method of dimensional regularisation is particularly handy in evaluating equal-time commutators and that the result agrees with one obtained by other means. (author)
