Two-center shell model
Creators
Description
A two center shell model is described in which two oscillator potentials are joined and l2 and spin-orbit terms are added to force agreement with single particle levels. The fission potential is calculated by constructing a liquid drop model, calculating liquid drop energies, and adding shell corrections with the two center shell model. Calculation of the mass distribution in asymmetric fission is discussed. 24 figures
