High energy physics in Europe

Creators

Description

For the purpose of estimating the extent of availability of West-European physicists for efficient work at future important accelerators the analysis of state, possible directions of work and resources in the field of high energy physics in CERN-member-states is performed. The most important plants for high energy physics investigations are presented. It is shown that in the future the main role in the development of high energy physics in West Europe will be played by the electron-positron storage ring LEP, the start of which is planned for 1988. It is pointed out that nowadays in Europe there is a sufficient quantity of the most modern plants for carrying out high energy physics investigations
