The analysis of primary circuit valves by means of PCSAFT
Description
During the testing of a Finnish pressurized water reactor of the Russian type, during a mechanized ultrasonic test, signals were obtained on a main shut-off valve which on being evaluated showed a fault which extended over 40% of the wall thickness. The indicated area was examined by the USD10-PCSAFT system. The detection was clearly resolved into two detections which are assessed as two separate faults according to the ASME code. The information value was verified by a calibration mock-up in the laboratory. (orig.)

Bei der Pruefung in einem finnischen Druckwasserreaktor russischer Bauart wurden waehrend einer mechanisierten Ultraschallpruefung Anzeigen in einem Hauptabsperrventil erhalten, die bei ihrer Bewertung einen Fehler ergaben, der sich ueber 40% der Wandstaerke erstreckt. Das Anzeigengebiet wurde mittels des Analysesystems USD10-PCSAFT untersucht. Die Anzeige konnte eindeutig in zwei Anzeigen aufgeloest werden, die nach ASME-Code als zwei getrennte Einzelfehler bewertet werden. Die Aussagefaehigkeit wurde an einem Kalibrier-Mockup im Labor abgesichert. (orig.)Additional details
