Description

J/Ψ-production cross sections from photon-, hadron-, and nucleus-nucleus collisions are plotted against the length of the canti c final state trajectory in nuclear matter. A value for the absorption cross section per nucleon σΨΝabs=(6.2±0.3) mb is deduced from the baryon and photon induced reactions and σΨΝabs=(6.9±1.0)mb from the nucleus-nucleus collisions. The equality of cross sections implies that suppression effects from a quark-gluon plasma are not visible. (orig.)
