Study of Zb(anti b), Z→μ+μ- production with the CMS detector

Description

We present a study of Z Boson plus one b-jet, and Z decaying into muons, in proton-proton collisions at √(s)=7 TeV. This analysis is performed using the first 35 pb-1 of data taken by Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) detector in 2010. We require at least one b-tagged jet with a specific lepton and jet selection. The cross section of this production which is one of the early measurements at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) will be presented. Zb anti b is an irreducible background to the MSSM Higgs boson (b anti bh/H/A) discovery channel. The main backgrounds considered for Zb anti b are the t anti t, the Zc anti c and Zq anti q where q=u,d,s.
