Uncertainty of determination of fuel consumption by an energy source

  • 1. Faculty of Power and Electrical Engineering, Riga Technical Univ., Riga (Latvia)

Description

The paper analyses the uncertainty arising at assessment of the operation of a boiler house. Such uncertainty is to be accounted for the calculate precisely the greenhouse gas emission and to estimate the correspondence of the performed measurements to the requirements for the selected monitoring tier. The paper describes methodology of uncertainty evaluation, which is based on the experimental data obtained for a natural gas operated boiler house during one year. Evaluation is also given for the uncertainty of gas consumption determination and for that related to fluctuations of gas net heat value per year. The analysis shows that the extended uncertainty of gas consumption measurements is in the limits determined by the confidence level and that the fluctuations of the lower net calorific value are insignificant.
