Description
A novel position sensitive semiconductor detector is described using a capacitive coupling method for position sensing. Spatial resolution of 1 mm and energy resolution of 4.2 keV FWHM was achieved (for 137 Cs radiation). The detector is easy to manufacture as compared to conventional position-sensitive detectors. Large area two-dimensional detectors can be made for use as imaging devices
