[Automatisch extrahiert und übersetzt] Der Sonderforschungsbereich 525 "Ressourcenorientierte Gesamtbetrachtung von Stoffströmen metallischer Rohstoffe", der seit Anfang 1997 von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft gefördert wird, hat das Ziel, ein Instrumentarium zur ressourcenschonenden Gestaltung metallischer Rohstoffströme im Spannungsfeld technischer, ökonomischer, ökologischer und anderer gesellschaftlicher Zielsetzungen zu entwickeln. In der ersten Projektphase steht der Aluminiumstoffstrom im Mittelpunkt der Arbeiten. Im Sonderforschungsbereich kooperieren Ingenieure, Naturwissenschaftler und Wirtschaftswissenschaftler aus Instituten der Rheinisch-Westfälischen Technischen Hochschule Aachen und des Forschungszentrums Jülich. Das Projekt gliedert sich in neun Teilprojekte: Lagerstätte (TP1), Gewinnung und Entsorgung (TP2), Verhüttung von Primär- und Sekundärrohstoffen (TP3), Bereitstellung von Sekundärrohstoffen (TP4), Umwelt (TP5), Transport (TP6), Energiebereitstellung (TP7), Ressourcenökonomie (TP8) und Systemanalyse (TP9).
