Public opinion about nuclear power in Czechoslovakia

Description
A public opinion poll concerning power generation was organized in February 1990. Future operation of nuclear power plants was supported by 46% respondents, whereas 41% were against it. The fraction that was against nuclear included more women. Respondents in the Czech Republic preferred nuclear power to thermal power, whereas the reverse was true in the Slovak Republic. The poll revealed a low degree of public information concerning economic aspects of power generation. (M.D.). 1 fig
