Tests in water of Superphenix pumps
Description
The importance of primary and secondary pumps for the reliability and safety of the Superphenix fast breeder reactor led to the building of a facility allowing full scale tests of these pumps, but in water and not in sodium. After stating the reasons for such tests and describing the loop, the article considers the main lessons gained in the areas of technological design, mechanical behaviour and hydraulic performance
