Description

Neutron activation analysis in combination with gamma spectroscopy has been used to investigate various basalts including samples of the Soviet Luna 24 mission and samples from the central graben of the Central Atlantic System for uranium, thorium, and rare earths. Based on the results groups of rocks of similar composition could be formed and assigned to known types of rocks
