To the problem of the population of the Galaxy

  • 1. Gor'kovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (USSR). Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Radiofizicheskij Inst.

Description

A new theory of the population of the Galaxy is considered, based on the hypothesis of the ''blast'' origin of life in the Universe in a certain moment of its development. According to the suggested theory civilizations began to originate around the present moment of the history of the Universe. Their possible number is restricted even when their lifetime is unilimited. The age and the number of the civilizations existing simultaneously, their lifetime being unlimited, are determined by the time scale and time dispersion of evolution of life in different planets from the cell level to a civilization. The suggested theory explains better than the Drake one the negative results of the search of superpowerful extraterrestrial civilizations as well as the non-colonization of the Earth
