The stability of metal particles and particle-plate interactions in liquid metals

Creators

Description

The stability of small particles in liquid metals is studied, using the Darjaguin-Landau-Verwey-Overbeek theory to treat colloids in ionic solutions. Only electrically conducting solids in liquid metals are considered. Of specific interest is the form, nature and behavior of particulate material in liquid metals, such as sodium. The study demonstrates that there is a parallel relationship between two systems. The conclusions are stated and applications suggested
