Description
Nuclear power is not only a sophisticated means of producing electricity with its assets and shortcomings, it has also become a powerful means of dividing society: those who are for and those who are against and this divide has existed for a long time and regained momentum when Chernobyl and Fukushima accidents happened. The opposition to nuclear power has simply evolved from site occupations to the massive use of media but international actions are nonexistent which may seem strange at the age of globalization. In fact the French population has always been engaged in the debate 'for or against nuclear power' because they live in it and they are used to it. Each person has since long chosen his side and may find boring or useless a new debate on nuclear energy even if it appears more structured and more open. (A.C.)
