Short Notes on a Fission Produkt Migration Meeting held on 2 March at KFA Jülich

Description

The Chairman gave a survey of the Dragon Fission product work, which was Influenced in the last three years by the UK Mark III programme. He welcomed the new interest from Germany and France and suggested a much closer collaboration between these two countries and the UK on chemistry, safety and fission product migration with the hope that this meeting could be a fruitful start of a Fission Product Migration Working Party. The following areas still present much uncertainty and would require expert discussion: i) agreement between predictions and measurements ii) relating of fission product migration to quality control aspects iii) plate out experiments, their evaluation and relation to core design iv) information on fpc behaviour at accident conditions v) TRISO/BISO fuel comparison
