Medical applications of nuclear magnetic resonance

A review of the principles, current applications and possible directions for future use of nuclear magnetic resonance in medicine is presented. NMR imaging procedure has already been applied to many organs, systems and conditions. NMR images seem to become as sought after as computed tomography. Different types of information can be presented in an NMR image including proton-density maps of the human body. Mapping of T1 and T2 as well as the proton density are possible.
