Consideration of recombination radiation in X-ray diagnostics of laser produced high-z plasmas
Description
Electron temperature measurement of laser produced high-Z plasmas by the filter method is discussed. Only the recombination emission of a high-Z plasma can be considered at low temperatures, below 100 eV. At higher temperatures, uoth recombination and bremsstrahlung emissions must be considered because each of them can be important of different wavelength ranges. An exemplification for the Zn (Z = 30) plasma shows that an overestimation of about two times of the temperature can be obtained when the contribution of the recombination radiation is disregarded and only bremsstrahlung plasma emission is considered.
