Reduction of vacuum chamber vibration on SPring-8 storage ring
- 1. Japan Synchrotron Radiation Research Inst., Mikazuki, Hyogo (Japan)
Description
The photon absorbers on storage ring are irradiated by the large part of synchrotron radiation locally in order to keep ultra high vacuum with local pumping systems and to avoid thermal extension of vacuum chambers. Because of the high power irradiation, high speed water flow is needed for these absorbers and such high Reynolds number flow causes the vacuum chamber vibration which makes beam orbit fluctuation. We have reduced these chamber vibration and beam fluctuation by about one order successfully. (author)
