Time scale for emission of intermediate-mass fragments in 36Ar+197Au collisions at E/A=35 MeV

Description

Two-fragment (Be-Be, B-B, and C-C) correlation functions were measured at small relative momenta for noncompound fragment emission in 36Ar+197Au collisions at E/A=35 MeV. Interpretation of the experimental correlation functions in terms of final-state Coulomb-interaction models indicate average fragment-emission times of about 100--200 fm/c
