Nuclear power and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons

World developments in the field of peaceful uses of atomic energy in the past five years since the signature of the Treaty on Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons are reviewed and current state of the Treaty implementation is discussed. The role of IAEA in safeguarding the observance of the Treaty and in promoting peaceful development of nuclear power is highly esteemed. In the discussion of the respective paragraphs of the Treaty and of the Geneva Declaration the views of the Soviet Union relating to nuclear power are briefly indicated. (L.O.)
