The effect of deviation from stoichiometry on mechanical properties of germanium telluride
- 1. Gosudarstvennyj Komitet po Ispol'zovaniyu Atomnoj Ehnergii SSSR, Sukhumi. Fiziko-Tekhnicheskij Inst.
Description
Studied is the effect of deviation from stoichiometry on mechanical properties of germanium telluride in the region of homogeneity. The character of temperature dependences of strength limit, yield limit and plastic deformation is shown to be changed qualitatively and quantitatively at the change of the composition of samples. The strength of the GeTe stoichiometric alloy is revealed to be minimal. The growth of tellurium content increases strength and yield point, but makes germanium telluride more brittle, the brittleness-plasticity transition being shifted toward the range of higher temperatures
