Mass spectrometer with the homogenous magnetic sector and electrostatic prism

The current work examines the scheme of the mass spectrometer with double focusing, in which together with the homogenous magnetic sector field the electrostatic prism with three electrodes is used. The electrostatic prism is selected so that at the same time with achromatization it can provide maximum widening of ionic beam before entering the magnet. This allows to increase significantly the 'quality' parameter of the mass spectrometer. The work presents characteristics of the given mass spectrometer in paraxial approximation. (author)
