Description
The terms describing the effects of the Maki-Thompson process on the superconducting fluctuations above Tc have the same temperature dependence in the longitudinal and Hall conductivities. Thus, by an appropriate superposition of these quantities, we define a new quantity, in which the effect of the Maki-Thompson process is canceled, thereby isolating the Aslamazov-Larkin terms. This method can be applied to YBa2Cu3O7-y if one assumes that the Cu-O chains are strictly one-dimensional conductors. Proceeding in this way, we obtain results in good agreement with the Aslamazov-Larkin term. Further analysis indicates, however, disagreement with the Maki-Thompson term
