X-ray diffraction investigation of double borates of Ba3TR2(BO3)4 composition, TR = rare earths

Description
Compounds produced in BaO-TR2O3-B2O3 systems where TR rare earth elelments are studied by x ray phase and x ray diffraction analysis methods. It is shown that Ba3TR2(BO3)4 phases (TR = La, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd) are produced at 1200 deg C in the systems considered. The compounds are crystallized in a rhombic syngony, sp.gr.Pnma. Elementary cell parameters of the double borates of the composition indicated are specified
