Energy dependence of fine structure transition cross section for K(4P) - He, H2 collisions in the range 0.1 - 0.4 eV
Description
The energy dependence of the cross section has been measured for the following processes K(42Psub(1/2)) + X reversible K(42Psub(3/2)) + X when X is a rare gas atom or a molecule. A crossed beam technique associated with a laser light excitation of the alkali is used. The fluorescent light inensities coming from Psub(1/2) and Psub(3/2) levels are measured to give the corresponding populations
