Protection device for nuclear reactor container
Description
Purpose: To protect a reactor container by providing a plurality of protrusions to the wall surface of the container thereby moderating the jetting force by the jet stream discharged from the rupture ports of pressure pipeways. Constitution: When a jet stream discharged from a ruptured portion of pressure pipeways collides against the protrusions disposed to the wall surface of the container, impact shock waves are resulted obliquely. Further, vertical impact shock waves are generated at a portion put between each of the protrusions. When the 2-phase jet stream collides against the wall surface, vortex streams are resulted due to the flow from the periphery to the central portion if the static pressure distribution at the wall surface is lower at the central portion and higher at the peripheral of the jet stream. When such vortex stream are formed, the energy of the jet stream is dispersed by the vortexes to moderate the jetting force exerted on the wall surface. Accordingly, the container can be protected.
