Experimental investigation of heat transfer in a bundle of 19 rods roughened by transverse rectangular ribs
Description
An experimental investigation was performed with respect to the pressure drop and the heat transfer of helium at pressures up to 42 bar flowing through a bundle of 19 tubes arranged in a hexagonal array. The tubes had a length of 2280 mm, the heated length was 1970 mm of which downstream a length of 750 mm was roughened by transverse rectangular ribs. The rods at a pitch-to-diameter ratio of P/D = 1.42 were contained in a hexagonal liner. The tubes (volumetrical O.D. 18.37 mm) were heated directly by direct current; the heating power was changed between 43 and 435 KW corresponding to a heat flux of 12 - 116 W/cm. The maximum wall temperature measured was 1,110 K (8370C). The experimental Reynolds numbers ranged from 1.16 x 103 to 1.19 x 105. (orig.)

An einem Stabbuebdel aus 19 Rohren in hexagonaler Anordnung wurden experimentelle Druckverlust- und Waermeuebergangsmessungen mit Helium als Fluid bei Drucken bis 42 bar durchgefuehrt. Die Rohre waren 2.280 mm lang, die beheizte Laenge betrug 1970 mm, von der die stromabwaerts gelegene Teillange von 750 mm durch transversale quadratische Rippen aufgerauht war. Die Rohre waren mit einem Stababstandsverhaeltnis von P/D = 1,42 in einem Sechskantkanal angeordnet. Die Rohre (volumetrischer Aussendurchmesser 18,37 mm) wurden mit Gleichstrom direkt beheizt; die Heizleistung wurde zwischen 43 und 435 KW veraendert, was einem Waermestrom von 12 - 116 W/cm entspricht. Die maximal gemessene Wandtemperatur betrug 1.110 K (8370C). Der Reynoldszahlbereich der Untersuchungen erstreckte sich von 1,16 x 103 bis 1,19 x 105. Der Bericht enthaelt die tabellierten Messergebnisse aller isothermen und nicht isothermen Versuchslaeufe. (orig.)
