Observation of perturbations of relative transition probabilities for spontaneous emission from electron-vibration-rotational levels of triplet 3s-, 3d-complex of H2 and D2 terms

Description

Consideration is given to measurements of relative probabilities for spontaneous emission from couples of spectral lines having a common top electron vibration-rotational state but belonging to different P-, Q- and R-branches within one band of electron transitions (3sσ) 3Σg+, (3dσ) 3Σg+, (3dπ) 3Πg±, (3dδ) 3Δg±→(2pπ) c3Πu± H2 and D2 isotopes of hydrogen molecule. A pronounced difference is noticed (20-fold) between the experimental results and those predicted by adiabatic theory both according to the Hendl-London formula and with the allowance for the vibration-rotational interactions in Frank-Kondon factors. 35 refs., 5 figs
