Equilibrium constants of complexes U(VI)-tri-isooctylammonium sulfate and tri-isooctylammonium chloride in o-dichlorobenzene

  • 1. Universite Nationale du Zaire, Kinshasa

Description

The extraction of U(VI) from sulfuric and hydrochloric acids by solutions of tri-isooctylammonium salt in O-dichlorobenzene, has been studied. The equilibrium constants in this solvent for the sulfate salt of tri-isooctylamine (R3NH)2SO4, the complex of this salt with uranyl sulfate [[(R3NH)2SO4]UO2SO4], tri-isooctylamine hydrochloride R3NHCl and the complex of this hydrochloride with uranyl chloride (R3NHCl)2UO2Cl2 are reported. The respective values of these constants are: 8.22 x 10-9, (1.45+-0.58) x 10-23, (1.05+-0.03) x 10-5 and (4.80+-0.53) x 10-13. (author)
