Charge-symmetry violation in π+ and π- elastic scattering from tritium and 3He

Description
An optical model analysis of the different cross sections for π+ and π- elastic scattering from tritium and 3He is carried out at 140, 180 and 220 MeV in order to study the violation of the charge symmetry due to Coulomb interactions. The results suggest the possibility that the backward-angle measurements of these cross sections may provide a sensitive test of charge-symmetry violation. (orig.)
