Description
The basic research of core characteristics and reactor system of liquid fuel fast reactor are carried out and obtained the following results. On core characteristics, 1) Pu-U fuel showed about 1.9 breeding ratio, 2) when fissile materials are charged at starting, core was able to operate without adding other fissile material, 3) the same amount of Pu as the initial fuel is generated by operating 3,000,000 kW thermal power for seven years. If the liquid metal forming velocity decreased and the distance between nozzle and coolant became short, granular materials were realized without impact absorber such as form. By experiments of iron and lead particles, the equation of starting velocity of particles flow was obtained from Rep=5.6Gτp0.4. (S.Y.)
