Peculiarities of amorphous alloy (Fe80B20) crystallization

  • 1. Inst. Yadernoj Fiziki NYaTs RK, Almaty (Kazakhstan)

Description

Amorphous alloys (as any much non-equilibrium systems) have a limited temperature interval of stability above which crystallization takes place. Technology of metal glass obtaining from alloy by fast hardening on cooling roll pre-determines different cooling speed on contact and free sides of the tape received. This certainly should result in heterogeneity of element composition by the sample thickness. In particular, this circumstance is reflected on magnet parameters of amorphous alloys. It should be expected that magnetic texturing can influence on kinetics amorphous alloy crystallization and cause phase heterogeneity by sample thickness. In this report we tried to find out crystallization peculiarities in volume and on amorphous tape surface. Alloy Fe80B20 was taken as an example
