Description
Abstract The 14C-labeling pattern in aloenin (I) biosynthesized from [2-14C]malonate, [1-14C]acetate, [1-14C]- and [3-14C]phenylalanine, and [methyl- 14C]methionine in Aloe arborescens Mill. var. natalensis Berger demonstrated that the carbon skeleton of aloenin is generated by the acetate-malonate pathway and that the methyl of the methoxyl group is originated from methionine.
