Description
After initial difficulties, the Wilson-Kadanoff renormalization group was set up in a mathematically rigorous way, and it has over the last decades become a very powerful tool for proving results in mathematical physics and analysis. In these lectures I will review these developments and discuss a few recent applications in more detail. (author)
