Description

The aim of this study was to investigate the radioprotective properties of seed and seed oil of Papaver bracteatum (Arya 2) as a nontoxic natural product. This was done by biochemical evaluation of the DNP complex of irradiated rats both with and without application of the seed and seed oil before irradiation. A comparison of the results obtained in the two cases demonstrated the radioprotective effects of seeds and seed oil. The results obtained show considerable changes in the DNP complex in all irradiated animals, and that the radioprotective effect of seed oil (25+-4) is better than that of seeds (23.5+-5). (author)
