Determination of bremsstrahlung emissivity coefficients for plasmas with partially ionized atoms
Description
Bremsstrahlung emissivity coefficients are calculated with an improved accuracy in the soft X-ray regime by starting from atomic cross sections which take into account the screening of the nucleus by the bound electrons. The emission due to ions of a given atomic number is studied for diminishing degrees of ionization and the results are compared to the more traditional estimates based on Coulomb data. (author)
