Description

Skin cancers are now the second most common type of cancer in the United Kingdom and exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UVR) is believed to be one of the most important factors in their development. The ability of UVR to influence all stages of skin cancer induction is a reflection of the wide range of changes induced in exposed cells. This article provides an overview of the principal mechanisms involved. (author)
