Commercialization of domestic standard container inspection system

Description

CIS(Container Inspection System) including radiation source module, detection system, cargo transporting system, imaging system, radiation protection, and building construction, is one of the most important security scanners for national security at harbor and airport. 14 CIS is being operated in domestic but all CIS were imported and there were a lot of problems in operation and maintenance of the imported CIS. The main objective of the project is to develop a commercialized model of radiation-based CIS(Container Inspection System). To satisfy the objective of the project, an evaluation meeting was held with invited outside specialists for performance verification of developed CIS at KAERI after design and fabrication of CIS commercialized model were finished. Verification was conducted over four main parts of CIS, that is, radiation source module, detecting system, transporting system, and imaging system. Almost 60 evaluation items were same as the ones used at purchasing business of CIS in Korea Customs Service (KCS). Because KAERI venture company actively participates in the commercialization of CIS, it would prevent outflow of foreign currency and also would be new main growth engine in domestic radiation device industry
