Radionuclides specific activities in belgrade soil for the period 1990-1999

Description
Systematic examination of radioactive contamination of soil samples was established at the Institute of Occupational and Radiological Health 'Dr Dragomir Karajovic'. This paper presents the results of radioactivity control of the soil (cultivated and uncultivated) during the period 1990-1999 in Belgrade. Samples were collected from two locations (Dunavac and Jabucki rit). Seasons for collection were spring and autumn. Method for analysis was gamma spectrometry. We presents average results for 40K, 134Cs, 137Cs and 226Ra activities for the period 1990-1998. Because our country was attacked by NATO forces, we specially analyzed uranium content in the soil in 1999. The presence of depleted uranium was not registered in analyses performed up to now.
