Radiolysis of organic compounds with liquid crystal properties
- 1. Belorussian State Univ., Minsk (Belarus)
Description
Resistance to γ-radiation was studied for organic compounds possessing liquid crystal properties. The main radical centers formed upon radiolysis of liquid-crystalline materials at 77 and 298 K were characterized. The yield of hydrogen as the basic product of radiolysis was determined. Correlation between the structure of liquid-crystalline materials and their radiation-chemical properties was established
