Ionization of the atmosphere due to natural and artificial radionuclides
- 1. Institute of Physics, Vilnius (Lithuania)
Description
Atmospheric ionization rate due to artificial and cosmogenic radionuclides radiation in the atmosphere is evaluated. It is shown that a new geophysical effect and an increased ion amount in the air is observed in the leeward side of the nuclear power plants. Atmospheric ionization rate in the NPP jet substantially exceed the natural one. Calculations for different atmospheric stability classes have been done. (author)
