Description
From the scientific point of view, the evaluation of the long-term consequences of the Chernobyl reactor accident still is a matter of discussion. Particularly questions such as a possible accumulation of pollutants and the resulting impact on susceptible land use, or the genetic effects in the long run of the low-dose radiation exposure count among the problems that still need clarification. There is demand for an areawide mapping of radiation doses according to one standard method, so as to establish a basis for a large-scale field study. (orig.)

Die Diskussion um die Beurteilung der langfristigen Folgen aus der Reaktorkatastrophe von Tschernobyl sind in der wissenschaftlichen Diskussion noch nicht abgeschlossen. Insbesondere moegliche Schadstoffansammlungen und die Konsequenzen fuer empfindliche Flaechennutzungen sowie die genetischen Langfristwirkungen auch niedriger Strahlendosen beduerfen der weiteren Untersuchung. Es werden flaechendeckende Kartierungen zur Strahlenbelastung nach einer einheitlichen Methode als Ausgangslage fuer eine breit angelegte Feldforschung gefordert. (orig.)Additional details
