MHD Couette flow with consideration of Hall effect
Description
The distributions of electric current, velocity and temperature in MHD Couette flow and the flow with some pressure gradient have been calculated by taking the Hall effect into consideration. (1) In the ordinary Couette flow with zero voltage-utilization ratio, counter flow component arises in the velocity in main-flow direction. (2) In the Couette flow with some pressure gradient, in an open circuit, the distribution of velocity as the Hall parameter approaches infinity is linear as the case without gradient. (3) The dimensionless current density in main flow direction becomes maximum around the Hall parameter of about one. (4) In the flow with some pressure gradient, the temperature decreases with the increase of the Hall parameter. (Mori, K.)
