Energy and the European public opinion: options and technologies
- 1. Commission europeenne, DG de la Rechercher, Programme Energie (Luxembourg)
Description
What is the attitude of the Europeans concerning energy and energy technology? This is the question that the Department of Research (working with the Department of Energy and Transport) of the European Commission has attempted to answer with the launch of its 'Eurobarometer' survey to gauge European public opinion. Launched under the 'Science and Society' banner, one of the new priorities of the sixth framework research and technological development programme of the European Union, this 'Eurobarometer' is aimed at helping us to better understand the perceptions of the public in Europe vis-a-vis energy and to highlight questions to be discussed for the future of energy technology with regard to social acceptability.
