Reinforcing cooperation links for the development of nuclear energy in Asia
Description
It is certain that demand for energy will grow considerably and quite rapidly in the Asian region. This implies that, during the next 10 years, installed generating capacity for production of electricity will have to increase by more than 500GWe, a figure that represents roughly 2/3 of the overall capacity to be installed in the whole world during that time period. China alone will need 170GWe, but demand is also very high in other countries : 85GWe in Japan, 70GWe in India, 35GWe in South Korea, 35GWe also in Indonesia, without mentioning Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc
