The value of diagnosis in cerebellar disease by lower field of MR
Description
Objective: To discuss the value of lower field MR in diagnosis in cerebellar disease. Methods: MRI (0.15T) images of 152 cases from November 1992 to December 2002, of cerebellar disease were retrospectively reviewed, and all cases were proved with surgical findings, pathologic examinations, laboratory data and clinical manifestation. All the cases had non-contrast scan, and Gd-DTPA enhancement was performed in some cases. Results: There were 152 consecutive cases enrolled in this study for the evaluation low-field MRI, including congenital malformation 12 cases, hemorrhage 16 cases, cerebellar infarction 76 cases, various cerebellar tumors 23, contusion 9, cerebellitis 6, encephalomalacia 3 and cerebellar atrophy 7 cases. Conclusion: Low-field MRI is useful in the diagnosis of cerebellar disease, especially with Gd-DTPA enhancement
