Description
An experimental protocol has been performed based on one-run measurement of Proton Induced X-ray Emission technique using an 'Al funny filter', in order to determine with enough efficiency and accuracy the elements that will be used in the classification of archeological objects. The first case study showed the attribution of excavated pottery from Beirut to North-Syrian production from Amrit rather than Ras-al-basit. The second case study characterized an excavated pottery from 'Jiyeh archeological site', located north of Sidon and identified as the Greco-Roman Porphyreon, where first investigations raised suspicions about a probable pottery production centre.
