Description

The paper describes an investigation on natural radioactivity carried out in an alluvial soil of the Po river valley (Northern Italy). The depth profiles of Bi-214, Pb-214, Ac-228, Bi-212, Pb-212, Tl-208 and K-40 are reported, discussed and correlated to the soil quality parameters. Uranium and thorium abundances, as obtained by neutron activation analysis, are given as well. (orig./HP)
